Rehearsals
for our current production have been steadily progressing since last
Autumn
with everybody working very hard, especially those 'unsung heroes'
behind the scenes, the set builders, carpenters, painters, lighting
experts, wardrobe, make up,refreshments etc. without whom it would be
impossible to produce a show.
We will be presenting THE YEOMEN OF THE GUARD at THE MADDERMARKET
THEATRE from
Wednesday 2nd May – Saturday 5th May. Performances start at
7.30pm with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30 pm.
Tickets are £9 & £7. Saturday Matinee
£8 &
£6. and can be booked through the Maddermarket theatre Box
Office Tel: 01603 620917
This
will be our third production at The Maddermarket Theatre and we hope
that you will be able to come and support us. Sylvia Coward and her
team will again be Front of House so please make sure you say hello!
Parking is available nearby at St. Andrews car park and also St.Giles
multi-story car park.
Please support us in what promises to be a very exciting production.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT is Chairman's night when representatives from other
societies
are invited to attend. We shall be meeting them after the Show in the
Bar for drinks and nibbles.
As usual FRIDAY NIGHT will be our LATE SUPPER night and we will again
be going to
PIZZA EXPRESS in St.Benedicts. Sue Butcher has again kindly offered
to organise this and will be passing amongst you during Show week. We
look forward to seeing you all there!
SATURDAY NIGHT – our final night is also our GET OUT NIGHT.
As in
previous years we have to clear the Theatre on Saturday night
immediately
after our last performance. Again, as before several lists will be
put up during the week with the jobs that need doing . Please put
your name alongside those jobs. This has worked well previously and
with all hands to the wheel it can be completed very quickly, so even
if you have visitors
in the audience they will be able to have an after show drink in the
bar while waiting for you.
Jim and Janet Barley have once again
kindly offered to host the after show party at their home.
As mentioned last year the Society does have personal accident and
public liability insurance. However, this ceases for members when
they reach 80 years of age. We do want you, but please do not take
any unnecessary risks.
NODA AWARDS
If
you are in line for a NODA Award please get in touch with Janet
Barley who will complete the forms for you.
Janet
will need to know when you started active service, either
singing or helping, and with which Society.
A presentation will be
made at the AGM.
